Reeve D. Swyripa called the March 25, 2019 Policy and Priorities Committee Meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. with all members in attendance except Councillor L. Wolgien.

9:00 AM Garth Rowswell, UCP Candidate for Vermilion-Lloydminster-Wainwright

Garth Rowswell joined the March 25, 2019 Policy and Priorities Committee Meeting at 9:01 a.m. and introductions were made. G. Rowswell engaged Council in a discussion regarding the County's top priorities leading into the 2019 election. Council identified their main focuses as being the accessibility and timeline requirements of Municipal Sustainability Initiative (MSI) grant funding, rural crime reduction strategies at both a provincial and federal level, the elimination of the carbon levy and, the deficit in funding in terms of road upgrades and maintenance. G. Rowswell left the March 25, 2019 Policy and Priorities Committee Meeting at 9:30 a.m.

    THAT the County of Vermilion River Policy and Priorities Committee recommend that the County of Vermilion River approve the request from the Town of Vermilion to assist in funding the replacement of their ice plant at a cost of $300,000 with $50,000 to be funded from the Park Trust Fund and $250,000 to be funded from Reserves.
